This home is locally owned by lifelong residents Kenny & Sheryl Matlock.  One advantage of our home is that we are full time residents of Rockport - Lifers - and are here to take care of any problems and assist you if we can - no impersonal rental management or cancellations due to owner wanting to use the home here. This house is our second/guest home.  I grew up in this house and purchased it from my father so my children would always have the wonderful experience of a waterfront property. We choose to rent it to help offset the expense of keeping it in the family.

     We live in Rockport and are available to handle any problems, answer your questions, give you directions, etc.  Just give us a call at home or on the cell.  Be sure to leave a voice message if for some reason I don't answer I check it often.

     While this home is located just outside of Rockport in the quiet village of Holiday Beach, it is situated on one of the best bays for fishing, with quick access to other adjoining bays, and nothing is very far away. It affords privacy and freedom for children and adults to ride bikes, scooters, jet skis or play with other outside "toys".  There is plenty of room to play.  We have even created our own duck, goose and bird nesting area on one lot.  Another lot has been left without a bulkhead for easy access to the water, running your boat up and anchoring or just looking for shells at low tide.  Extra care is necessary around the rocks & concrete that have been placed in front of the bulkheads and at waters edge as they can be very tricky and slippery.  It is there to help with erosion. There is also plenty of room to park a boat or jet ski and the bay is perfect for water skiing, jet skiing and boating as well as FISHING and Birdwatching.

     We have decorated and equipped our home with everything we could think of that WE might need or want when we are fishing for the weekend or have guests of our own staying and we are constantly adding things as the need arises.  Our kitchen is the best equipped around (Mom wrote a cookbook so I occasionally do the gourmet thing and cook) Clothes, personal toiletries, groceries and items needed for your stay are all that are needed to start your vacation.    We have retained a secured portion of the house for our personal things. 

We want our home to be comfortable and like home.  Family friendly.  No worries here - A place you would be proud to have your family visit and a place you will want to come back to.  Repeat rental clientele is our goal and these clients receive preferential booking, payment and deposit privileges.

     Rockport enjoys a mild climate pretty much year round.  It is a casual resort town where shorts can be worn nearly all year.   Our town is a haven for Winter Texans looking to outrun the cold and maybe do a little beachcombing.  Fishing is good nearly year round and there is plenty to do other than fish. 

     We have tried to include enough information so you know the who, what, where, when & why to visit Rockport.  If you find we haven't provided you with something specific or if we can be of any assistance we will do our best to find the answer or assist you.  We try to answer email within 24-48 hours when we can.

     So please feel free to enjoy the laziness of the house and magnificent sunsets, fishing, birding and many other activities Rockport has to offer.  We truly want you to enjoy your stay in Rockport so please don't hesitate to email us with questions.  Ask us about a vacation rental or services trade, we are always looking for someplace new to visit and the barter system works for us.

SPECIAL NOTE:  We have just newly renovated the home due to flood damage from Ike.  We are still working on the outside landscaping which has been delayed due to prevailing drought conditions.  Our pier is the sturdiest, longest, best lit pier on the bayfront and you can check it out at Google Earth. (My husband is a bit of an over-achiever, he builds offshore structures and suffers from bigger, better, badder toy syndrome.  Man-Law (at least where my guys are concerned): "He who has the biggest, baddest, bestest toys is "King" until knocked off by a buddy who gets a better toy".  We are still working on outside renovations and landscaping in an effort to create a little piece of paradise.  We are continually updating/adding to the decoration, ambiance, completion of renovation of the upstairs of the house is planned for this year.  One day it will be perfect and as you can see from pictures it is a lovely home even though we are not finished.  You know they say if you ever truly finish with a home it is time to sell it.  Pictures will be available and added as we complete them.  Please contact us with any questions or suggestions!  We welcome your comments and are always looking for ways to make our home and site more desirable!  Guest comments, notes and praises are available upon request.
